When a beloved pet or companion animal passes away you might what to hold a pet funeral ceremony to say your final goodbye.
Pet Funeral Ceremonies can also help in the grieving process and help to bring closure to your loss.
There are of course a number of options when it comes to pet funeral ceremonies and is a good idea to take some time to think through how you would like to mark the passing of your pet.
There are many pet cemeteries and crematoria who will be more than happy to advise you on a service for your pet but you will have to make a decision that you are happy with and that you feel will be a fitting ceremony for your pet.
To help with that decision we can look at the options which are available to you:
The choice of burial or cremation is possibly one of the first decisions to make.
If you choose burial then the next decision will be the location, a local pet cemetery or in your garden.
If you choose cremation then you may decide to scatter the ashes or to house them in an urn.
Once those decisions have been made you will want to plan the actual ceremony.
You might want to collect your thoughts and write a tribute to read at the ceremony or you might want to say a prayer. Again these things are best planned beforehand.
You might what some family members and friend to be at the ceremony and is would be a good idea to give them some notice and to explain your wishes to them.
I think that the most important thing about pet funeral ceremonies is that they are a time for you to say your own goodbuy, to take some time to reflect upon your relationship with your pet and to offer your thanks for that relationship.
If you make that ceremony as special as you can and include things in it that you feel your pet would like then the whole grieving process will then be able to take it’s natural course.
Making arrangements before the final days of your pet might also help, when a loss happens it is always so much more difficult to make those plans.
